Disco is a great party theme for adults. Kids do not really understand the disco music or era. Most adults do. They remember the clothes, the music and all the other things associated with the disco era. Disco parties are great for adult birthdays, retirements, and a myriad of other occasions.

Disco Decorations
Disco parties are fun to decorate and attend. Encourage guests to dress for the event. Disco balls are pretty easy to locate and set the right mood for the party. Get out those old records, or new CDs , and put on the tunes of the times. Use party items that mimic the disco theme. Set up a DJ stand for the host to play music from. Dance space is essential.

Party Supplies
Think back to the disco era for party inspiration. Use foods that were popular during the era, like pigs in a blanket and cocktail wieners. Fondue was a major hit during the seventies and fits right into the theme. Set up a chocolate fondue with fruits and a cheese one with meats. Try to include as many finger foods as possible to make it easy to eat on the move. Use disco themed paper products purchased from a party supply store.

Disco Party Games
In addition to the music and food consider things like a hustle contest, costume contest and other similar disco related activities. Enlist the help of friends and family to come up with ideas that are appropriate. A seventies trivia contest would be a great activity. A little karaoke might be fun too.

Follow up the party with disco themed thank you notes for any of the guest that assisted, brought something, or gave a hostess gift. The disco theme will remind them of what a great time they had. Thank you notes are always appreciated and appropriate.
